There is lots to do nearby, a beach is within walking distance down the lane. The picturesque fishing villages of Murray River, Murray Harbour and Beach Point are nearby as is the ferry terminal. For the golf enthusiatist Belfast Highland Greens which is recognized as having the most spectacular views of any of PEI's renowned courses is only 10 minutes away.

Three lighthouses are in the area, Point Prim, Wood Islands and Cape Bear. It was the Cape Bear lighthouse where the distress signal from the Titanic was received.
